Testimonials

"Thanks for all your work on "Unconditional Parenting." While I depended on your technical expertise and your responsiveness to my concerns, most comforting was the depth of knowledge about education you and your crew brought to the process. It's rare to find videographers who not only know how to put together a professional-looking video but also understand the subject they're filming."

"I want to say thanks again for all your work this week. I particularly appreciated your last-minute intervention on Friday that enabled us to get what I think will be a critical piece of footage explaining the follow-up to Takahashi's lesson. I've come to expect that kind of on-your-feet wisdom from you, so even more surprising was the sight of your camera crew shooting the last informal conversations and urging us that it was really important stuff when we thought we were finished for the day. That scene will stick with me for a long time! How'd I get so lucky to work with a video crew that understands and cares so much about the work?"

"The new videos and context pieces we had for the Opening Institute were a key factor in enabling a real breakthrough in our work with teachers new to RA [Reading Apprenticeship]. And the Jill video, what a knockout! I'll be taking it with me almost everywhere I go to talk about our work. It's fantastic. Thanks."

"I wanted a DVD to disseminate my 45-minute theater-style environmental science show. I also wanted the DVD to include about a dozen short “chapters” where I use experiments, animations, and props to model different ways to teach a wide variety of science topics.

Never having done anything like this before,  I needed a video producer who also understood education, teachers, and students. Peter excelled in helping me design the content for both the show and the topic chapters. Though I have been performing the show for years, I was very pleasantly surprised at the constructive improvements we made together, and his invaluable assistance in writing, editing, and designing the chapters. I was very impressed with the advice he gave me to improve the educational value of the science lessons.

We filmed in a museum theater, an urban high school classroom, and our own little studio that we created in two large board rooms. Peter and his team were very adept in getting high quality footage in these different locations, and in creating a feel that connected across all of them. Their expertise made me comfortable with the in and outs of multiple takes, shooting from different angles, coordinating multiple actors in a scene, and working with students.

I also enjoyed working with Dellaruth Video throughout the editing process. Here too they brought a variety of skills to continually improve the product. I always felt that my input was heard and honored. I highly recommend Dellaruth Video for creating high quality educational video."

"The Teacher Professional Development Program has been extremely pleased with its collaboration with Peter Shwartz and Dellaruth Video. Peter and his team are consummate professionals: they research the purposes and context of shooting, plan every shoot carefully, and interact with teachers and students ahead of time. As a result, they capture in video the essence of learning and teaching.

When we show our videos to educators, they marvel at their quality and detail. "It is wonderful to see what students are writing and to clearly hear what they are saying to each other." "No important detail is absent in this video, and it is unrehearsed." Indeed, the classes themselves are totally unrehearsed, but the filming is deliberate, well-planned, and of great quality. We have no hesitation in recommending Peter and his team to educators interested in developing video cases for their programs."

"I worked with Peter for about fifteen years and can't say enough good things about working with him. Peter listens and he works with you. He cares deeply about kids and about good teaching. He and his wonderful crew are great at establishing rapport with teachers and kids and at capturing the important moments so easily missed if one is not knowledgeable about the deeper goals of educational practice."
